Dog ate your homework?

 

We understand things get lost in shuffle so just in case you’re missing some items, here’s a quick synopsis of what we’ve sent home recently. We hope your year is off to a great start.


PTA MEMBERSHIP PACKETS

– PTA Membership & Online Directory and Volunteer Form – please be sure to complete both pages

 

PTA membership packets were sent home last week. For your convenience, they are also posted online and most forms are fillable PDFs so you can simply click on the response area and start typing. You will need to either save the PDFs and email them to us or print the completed forms and return them to school by September 8th. Please note: You DO NOT have to be a PTA member to be included in the online directory or our email distribution list but you DO have to have a valid email address to access the information.

 

SPIRIT WEAR ORDER FORMS 

Spirit wear is available to order for a limited time during the fall. This year we’re offering a few other fun items beyond t-shirts. Not finding something you love? Order an iron on patch and customize something you already own for only $5.

We do not keep extra inventory on hand so place your orders for your student (and yourself!) now. Orders are due September 8th.

VOLUNTEER FORM

We love to have volunteers help throughout the year! If you are volunteering as a Room Parent, a classroom volunteer, field trip chaperone, etc, you must complete an OPS District Volunteer application. ALL applications must be done online this year. We recommend you do this sooner than later as the form must be approved by the district before you are allowed to volunteer in the classroom. If you aren’t sure if you need to complete the form, email Dr. Haynes and inquire directly.

We’ve all been thinking about it so we might as well make it official . . . welcome BACK TO SCHOOL! Ready to do your back to school shopping? Download the school supply list here; please note, purchasing these items is strictly voluntary. For those so inclined, consider picking up a few extra items to share with your classroom. Pencils, erasers, notebooks and tissues are often in short supply by the end of the year.

Back to School Night Ice Cream Social  |  August 15, 2017
5:30 pm6:30 pm  |  Harrison Elementary School

Come meet your 2017/2018 classroom teachers and connect with fellow parents as we prepare
for heading back to school. Enjoy free ice cream sundaes courtesy of the PTA. We hope to have
new Harrison spirit wear available for order or purchase that night!

BooHoo/WooHoo Breakfast  |  August 17, 2017
8:50 am9:30 am  |  Harrison Elementary School Lobby

Pre-K and Kindergarten parents are invited to attend the BooHoo/WooHoo Breakfast. Whether
you’re happy or sad to see the first day of school come, we’re here to commiserate or celebrate with
you. Parents are invited to join us in the school lobby for coffee, donuts, juice (and kleenex) after the
teachers lead the children to their classrooms.

 

Back to School Family Picnic  |  August 20, 2017

All Harrison families and staff are invited to attend. Just bring a lawn chair/blanket and side dish
to share. . .the main dish will be provided!

 

Dundee Day Parade  |  August 26, 2017
10:00 am11:30 am  |  Brownell-Talbot School Parking Lot

Come walk in the Dundee Day Parade and show off your Tiger pride. Participants in the parade
will gather in the Brownell-Talbot parking lot at 10 a.m.; parade begins at 10:30. Don’t forget
to wear your favorite Harrison t-shirt!
